MaXXan Names Nelson Bye President, COO

30-Year Industry Veteran to Grow Company's Business & Operation in Application Oriented Storage Networking

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- MaXXan Systems, Inc. today announced the appointment of industry veteran Nelson Bye as the company's President and Chief Operating Officer. Bye has more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and management in the server and storage arenas. As the newest member of MaXXan's executive team, Bye is responsible for the ongoing business growth and operation of the company.

Before MaXXan, Bye was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Spinnaker Networks, which was acquired by Network Appliance in 2004. Before that, Bye was GM/Senior Vice President for HAL Computer Systems, Inc. and Amdahl (both Fujitsu companies). Bye grew startup sales at HAL to over $50 million before Hal was moved to Amdahl. Prior to joining the Fujitsu companies, Bye was a founding member and first sales employee at Convex Computer Corporation. He later became Convex's Vice President and General Manager of Western Operations, growing the Western Region from 0 to 115 sales and sales support people and generating more than $100 million in revenue. Bye has also held senior sales management positions at Data General and Control Data.
